2009 Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award Application

Sandia Preparatory School Wins NMPA
Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award

By Bobby N. Holstead, PhD, Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award Committee Chair

NMPA is pleased to announce that Sandia Preparatory School, 532 Osuna Rd, NE, in Albuquerque has been given the 2008 “Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award.”

The award was formally presented on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at the school. Sandia Prep impressed the NMPA committee with its degree of employee satisfaction, its “family” orientation, and its degree of employee involvement. Committee members Bob Ericson, PhD, Steve Poland, PhD, and Clara Farah, PhD, all participated in the evaluation process. Interestingly, this was the first application within New Mexico that was completed on-line and that was submitted on-line to APA for consideration of a national award.

On a related note, Drs. Poland and Farah announced that this award cycle is their last on this committee. We are looking for additional members to replace these very valuable members who have served for over 5 years on this committee. If you would like to be involved in this committee, please call Bobby Holstead at 505-344-9500 in Albuquerque.

You can find out additional information about this program by going to NMPA’s website and clinking on the link to the Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award program. I will also be sending out an announcement on the list serve and will solicit your input for applications for the 2009 award year.
