April 23 -- Transitioning from Therapist to Life Coach presented by Judith Elfrink Weissmueller, LPC and Susan Zorn, PhD
This workshop will focus on motivational life coaching, how it differs from traditional forms of psychotherapy, and why coaching is a natural “next step” for therapists. Participants will learn the indications for coaching vs. therapy and some practical tips for developing a coaching “niche”. The workshop will be didactic as well as experiential. Through discussion, group exercises and a variety of media, such as music and poetry, the presenters will share their experiences with transitioning into a coaching model. (1-5 p.m., 4 continuing education credits).
April 30 -- Forbidden Feelings: Romantic Attraction and Erotic Desire in Psychotherapy, presented by Dean William Rudoy, PhD
This workshop will explore the phenomenon of romantic attractions and erotic desires arising within the therapeutic relationship from both patient and therapist perspectives. Dr. Rudoy will examine the intrapersonal and interpersonal dynamics underlying romantic/erotic fantasies and realities between patients and therapists, address the therapeutic and ethical dimensions of these phenomena, and consider guidelines within which to respond to one’s patients’ and deal with one’s own romantic attractions and erotic desires within the therapeutic relationship. (1-5 p.m., 4 continuing education credits)
Sorry, we can’t take reservations without payment. Cancellations must be made the Wednesday before the presentation for a full refund or transfer of your payment to another Friday Forum. You must attend the entire session to receive any CE credit. No partial credits will be given.
